Q: Is the customer required to send the console?
A: Yes. The supply of consoles from Lundy Electronics has dried up. Therefore, customers must supply their own standalone non-expansion module (non-EM#3) ADAM console. No other items such as the keyboard are needed. Ensure your keyboard is in known good working condition to prevent any damage to the SuperADAM once received.
Q: When does the customer have to send the console?
A: Units must be shipped within one week of purchase to ensure we can sequence processing and delivery based on purchase order.
Q: Is the customer responsible for providing the two required dummy drive assemblies to house the Internal SD DDP and ADE or FujiNet Internal drive emulators?
A: Yes, the customer is required to supply the two required dummy drive assemblies at the same time as the base console, not later. We are looking into creating our own dummy drive assembly, but that offering will not be available for a while. So, please don’t ask if/when they will be available. We will update this FAQ when they are available and will add it as an option at checkout in the future. If we do offer it, we expect it closer to the end of 2026.
Q: Can I make modifications or omissions to the Bill of Material (BOM) of included parts/products? I already have some Lundy Electronics products that you can use or can install them myself to reduce the final price?
A: No, I must rely on the funds from the full standard BOM to make these worthwhile for me to build. The only options at time of purchase are the choice between an Internal ADE Pro or FujiNet drive emulator and an External Digital Data Drive housing assembly. After all, the Lundy Electronics SuperADAM is intended to showcase all the Lundy Electronics products.
Q: Can you also do a custom install of another company’s offering during the build?
A: Highly unlikely. The goal is quality, and Lundy Electronics products are known for that. We don’t want failures in a SuperADAM caused by another product which can affect the Lundy Electronics reputation for quality products. The obvious exception is the PICO9918 and HDMI dongle. If some other product is well-known and established as reliable for quite a while, we might consider it. Additional fees may apply.
Q: Does my ADAM console need to be in working order for rework?
A: Not necessarily, but highly recommended. All consoles get a Gamma and Delta DRAM to SRAM converter installed. Those installations along with the full electrolytic and tantalum capacitor replacements and replacing the single-wipe ROM sockets will often repair a console. If not, a shop repair hourly rate of $65/hr will be applied to the final cost. Customer is always notified prior to any repair work. Sending a known good console is always the best choice. An unrepairable or non-upgradable console, PCB damage from poor quality prior work, broken console case beyond use, or missing vital components are subject to rejection and will be returned at the owner’s expense in the same original packaging it was received in. A standard one- to two-hour shop rate fee will be applied for time invested. In any situation the console needs to be sent back without being successfully modified, expenses for installed parts (that can’t be easily removed and replaced with originals), return shipping, and bank fees will be subtracted from the final refund issued. Refunds will be issued within three business days after the unit is signed for upon delivery. We are NOT responsible for missing or damaged packages in this case, NO exceptions of any kind.
Q: What kind of warranty comes with a SuperADAM?
A: A 90-day warranty comes with all Lundy Electronics items installed during the build process. It includes all installed electronic parts, DRAM to SRAM converters, peripherals, wiring, connectors, and custom printed parts. Given the age of these 40+ year old units, we cannot warranty any other original parts/items.
Q: Will Lundy Electronics do case repairs or retrobriting?
A: No, your console can only look and operate as good as the quality of the unit sent. If you send in an ugly discolored unit, you get the same thing back. If you send in a unit with a broken I/O port cover, cracks, scratches, you get the same thing back. We do have techniques and products to do our best to make the base unit look as good and clean as possible in the process.
Q: What kind of protections do both parties have?
A: We document everything in detail for the protection of the customer and Lundy Electronics in the event disputes are made. Documentation includes pictures starting from unboxing to boxing of the fully modified consoles and every step along the way, inside and out. Expect email communication updates and details as units progress through the process. We like to engage the customer throughout the process once work begins.
Q: I see you don’t offer the SuperADAM outside of the United States. What if I use a third-party shipping service in the US to bypass this restriction?
A: If you order outside of the US and use a third-party shipping service in the US, all warranties are void. Lundy Electronics is not responsible for any shipping issues, damage, or lost packages.
Thank you for trusting Lundy Electronics with your SuperADAM build.
